APISBMA's event during the CSBA Annual Education Conference last week achieved record-breaking attendance, with nearly 200 individuals joining us for breakfast!

We were honored to have Assemblymember Al Marutsuchi (66th District) serve as the keynote speaker, addressing the pressing issues in education, and Assemblymember Alex Lee (24th District) as the moderator.  Thank you to both of our speakers for taking the time to join us!

APISBMA took great pride in presenting the Ethnic Studies Champion Award to Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and the Cultural Empathy Champion Award to Westminster School District's Vietnamese & Spanish Dual Language Immersion Programs at the event. Additionally, a special Outstanding Program Award was presented to ABC Unified School District's Living History: Day of Remembrance Program. Congratulations to the recipients for their efforts in promoting inclusive education!

Outgoing President Naomi Nakano-Matsumoto was recognized for her outstanding leadership and dedication for the last year and a half. Fortunately, she will be continuing her service on the Board of Directors in a new role.

Two school board members who completed their term on the APISBMA Board of Directors were recognized for the service and dedication:  Shali Sirkay and Caroline Que Anderson.

Thank you to all of our attendees for joining us and we look forward to seeing you at the breakfast next year!
