Event Recap: APISBMA Mid-Autumn Mixer

Our Fall mixer was a great success! Around 50 current and former school board members and affiliated organizations attended this social in Fremont, a city in the crossroads of the San Francisco East Bay and Silicon Valley. We were honored to have Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi join us as well. He spoke about his advocacy work as a former school board member and currently in the legislature where his two bills, the California Safe Haven Schools Act (AB 49), which protects students and families from immigration enforcement on school grounds, and Early Literacy (AB 1454), which will provide missing links to California’s comprehensive early literacy reforms, were recently signed into law.
